An extraordinarily vivid, unheated, dark ocean blue color with great clarity. Aquamarine was first found in Ethiopia in 2010, but most of the deposit occurs frozen in a granitic pegmatite. Only one open pocket with gem grade material has been located to date. We were fortunate to obtain a few pieces, originally purchased at the 2013 Hong Kong gem show. Quite simply the finest color unheated aquamarine we have ever witnessed in this size! The few small inclusions in one corner do not detract in hand, nearly eye clean.
