A richly colored Gem Silica, on the Blue side of Blue Green. A fantastically rare and durable gem material for everyday wear, Gem Silica is naturally colored by Chrysocolla inclusions. Technically it’s cryptocrystalline quartz (a.k.a. Chalcedony), a hardness of 7.0 on the Moh’s scale, with no cleavage and great toughness. This piece is mostly opaque, it passes light but you cannot read print through it. There is a small crystal inclusion right on top, visible in video. Very suitable for an every-day ringstone, this Caribbean Blue beauty is sure to make an eye-catching piece of custom jewelry!
