2.16ct Gem Silica, Ray Mine, Arizona

$200.00

Carribean Blue Green Gem Silica from the famous Ray Copper Mine in Pinal County, Arizona!  Gem Silica is a rare form of Chalcedony, colored by inclusions of Chrysocolla.  Very little is recovered from the mine, as most mine-run ore goes straight to the crusher to be processed for it’s Copper content 🙁 What little gem grade material escapes destruction is prized for it’s rich Blue and Green colors, translucency, and excellent durability suitable for everyday wear in jewelry.

This shaped piece has some zoning, being a bit more opaque and slightly deeper in color towards the apex.
